Tour Banner - Falling for Mr Wrong

Looking for Mrs. Right…

Single father of three, Ross Bencher, knows the kind of woman he wants: someone predictable, reliable, and safe, who can give his kids the security they deserve. Someone entirely different from high-altitude mountaineer Kelsey. Kelsey bewitches him with her long legs and wild passion and is about as far from his ideal as a woman can get, but try telling that to his body. Or his heart…

Falling for Mr. Wrong…

When Kelsey agreed to fill in as a temporary nanny for her best friend’s agency before a big climbing expedition, she had no idea she’d be working for drop-dead sexy Ross Bencher, a man she can’t seem to keep her hands off. She knows if she wants to bring herself—and her father—back alive from the Himalayan Mountains, she can’t afford second-guessing, attachments, or distractions. But Ross’s blue eyes and strong hands leave her gasping…and questioning everything she’s ever known about love…

The Excerpt

Falling for Mr Wrong

She considered walking out, but then the corner of his mouth quirked, just a little, and he reached out to tuck a long strand of her hair behind one ear. When he touched the edge of her jaw, a trail of goose bumps splintered down her spine.

She couldn’t turn away. Not from a man with a smile that reached right down inside her, or eyes that were sexy, yet warm, the kind that belonged to a man who spent a lot of his time laughing. A man who would spend the night and buy you breakfast in the morning.

“Well, to answer your question, I’m leaving tomorrow for Nepal.” The flutter between her legs grew to a throb.

“Dear God.” Ross pulled back, frowning. “Are you climbing Mount Everest?”

Kelsey smiled. “No. Annapurna, actually. Annapurna One.”

“There’s more than one of them?”

“It’s a section of peaks in the Himalayas. Annapurna One is the tallest. Not as big as Everest, but size isn’t everything.”

Ross waggled his eyebrows. “Anyone who says that is lying, you know.”

What’s Your Fantasy?

Dear Friends and Readers,

I invite you to light some candles, pour a hot bubble bath, grab a spoon and a pint of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. Ready? Comfy? Now, I want you to tell me about your fantasies.

No, not THOSE fantasies. I mean, those fantasies are important, and they are a crucial part of our genre. But I’m looking for something a little…er…cleaner.

I want to know your favorite romance novel fantasy.

The way I see it, we romance writers are trying to do one thing, and do it well–create a fantasy world into which our readers are longing to dive. We have a few basic elements that stay pretty static. We’ve got gorgeous men, strong, independent heroines, and true love.

The rest is really up to you.

We know some of our readers’ fantasies. There’s the heroine who gets kidnapped by pirates, the ever-popular Cinderella story, and the ugly duckling who turns into a swan. My favorite fantasies involve kick-ass heroines who are pirates, bounty hunters, and spies. We write variations on these themes, but the fantasy is the same. (In my latest novel, Falling for Mr. Wrong, I’ve got a mountain-climbing heroine who falls into that “kick-ass” category.)

This isn’t just true in romance. All genres have their fantasies. I write young adult novels as well as adult romance, and I think it’s remarkable how many young adult books center around the same fantasy: the orphaned child who turns out to be the chosen one. And how about all those hard-on-his-luck detectives who solves the crimes that have eluded all others?

We all need fantasies. We need somewhere for our imagination to go when our mundane worlds of desk jobs, cubicles, baby food, diapers, and traffic get to us. We need to go back to our childhoods, when we really believed we might turn out to be the adopted child who was destined to save the world, or the princess in disguise, or the kid who solved the crime.

So tell me…what’s your favorite fantasy? Is there a romance novel you can’t pass up? The bluestocking who captures the rake’s heart? The best friends who realize they’ve been in love all their lives? Tell me about your fantasies, and maybe they’ll end up in my next book!
