EAmy Interviews ClaireE
Claire is the heroine of Blood Gate. In her mid-twenties, Claire is an apprentice vampire in the London Circle. She’s got special psychic powers the other vampires don’t have. She can read minds and influence people to do her bidding.
Amy: Hi, Claire! Can you tell us three interesting, random facts about yourself?
Claire: Sure. I love to garden, which is hard as I’m a vampire. But I’ve got a night-blooming garden on the balcony that I love. I can’t stand the scent of citrus. Gives me a really bad headache. So ha, you’ll never see me growing oranges or lemons! Third thing? I kinda like being tied up.
Amy: We’re in your bedroom and we’re looking in the nightstand drawer. What do we find?
Claire: Let’s see? Three nearly empty tubes of lipsticks. Two nude glosses and one red matte. A bottle of black nail polish that just didn’t work out but I’ve never gotten around to ditching. A tiny copy of The Art of War by Balthasar Gracian. My Kindle. Some dragon’s blood incense. Oh, and four white scarves and a blindfold.
Amy: If you could be any heroine in any book you’ve ever read, who would you be?
Claire: Dorothy Gale from the Wizard of Oz. I’ve wanted to follow the Yellow Brick Road to find home all my life.
Amy: Favorite television show?
Claire: Now or ever? Right now The Walking Dead. I’m Team Daryl all the way. If they kill him off, there will be one seriously pissed off vampire gunning for the writers! Ever? Friends. I always wanted a group of friends who had my back the way they did.
Amy: Sneakers or high heels?
Claire: Sneakers please. I love to climb buildings at night and race across rooftops and leap from one roof to the next. Kinda hard with high heels!
Amy: Favorite season?
Claire: Autumn. I fell in love with Andre in the autumn.
